Customer Challenge
Founder and CEO Randolph Mann launched esVolta in 2017. While the company quickly gained positive attention and grew its base in its first few years, it still had a start-up brand image. Its family-designed logo and single-page website were effective in the firm’s early years, but the leadership team knew it was time for a brand upgrade to reflect its level of pioneering growth in BESS.

Brand Strategy and Full Brand Relaunch
Through an Intensive discovery process, we delved deep into the agency’s mission, team, and ethos. We weren’t just looking for surface level information - we sought to really understand what made them tick and what impact they wanted to leave on the sector. While launching a polished, professional brand was key to their growth, it was also important to maintain the family thread of its original brand.
We worked with the team closely to craft messaging, brand guidelines, and a visual identity that were true to its roots while also reflecting the fact that it was backed by one of the premier investment firms in the sector. We rolled out the approach to its entire team of 130 people to generate excitement and buy-in, and built a full-scale public launch.

esVolta earned press in industry media, as well as NBC, Bloomberg, and other mainstream channels. Press coverage was just one aspect of our PR strategy. We developed a multi-pronged PR approach, including ribbon cuttings and events, media relations, community relations, and proactive brand management.

As esVolta continued to pioneer grid reliability and resilience through its innovative solutions, we bolstered its growth with social media and communications. Its LinkedIn growth echoes its business growth, and its communications strategy has allowed the company to scale nimbly while maintaining consistent messaging.



Proactive Crisis Communications and Reputation Management
As esVolta gained press and attention, a reporter reached out for a comment based on non-esVolta project, with a potentially controversial outcome. The situation could have devolved into a PR mess. Because the company had twentytwo & brand on retainer, and the agency already had completed foundational brand guidelines and messaging, we were able to quickly and thoroughly address the reporter’s questions.
